Practice begins in January, games begin in February, and the season concludes by the end of March.
2015 Upward Basketball & Cheerleading
Basketball and cheerleading are open to boys and girls ages 5 to 14 (as of January 1, 2015). Registration begins Sunday, October 26 and ends Wednesday, December 3, 2014.
The Cost is $80 and includes:
Basketball: reversible numbered jersey, basketball t-shirt, end of the year award
Cheerleading: cheer top, skort, pom-poms, megaphone & more
Payment methods may include: checks made out to Olive Baptist, cash, or credit cards (with a $3 fee)
Basketball shorts and cheer mock turtlenecks are optional at a cost of $20.
Evaluations and uniform sizing are required for all basketball players. Uniform sizing is required for all cheerleaders. Evaluation/Sizing days begin at 5:30pm in the ROC Gym at Olive on the dates listed below. You need only attend one of the three dates:

Practices & Games
Practices for basketball and cheerleading are one day a week for one hour. Games are on Friday nights for middle school-age players and will run approx. 1.5 hours. Elementary age players will play on Saturdays for 1 hour. All practices and games are held at the Olive ROC Gym.

You will improve your basketball skills while making new friends! During your one-hour practice each week, your coach will teach you important skills like dribbling, shooting and passing. Through the skills and drills at practice, you and your teammates will become better basketball players and friends.
Girls ages 5 to 14 (as of January 1, 2015) participate in cheerleading during the basketball games of the year.
Improve your cheerleading skills while you make new friends! During your one-hour practice each week, your coach will teach you important skills like stances, motions, jumps and cheers. Each week, you and your teammates will become better cheerleaders and friends.
