Girl's Ministry

But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, and formed you, O Israel: Fear not, I for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name: you are mine

– Isaiah 43:1

Mission Statement

Chosen by Christ to be set apart to discover our full potential in Him, while building relationships with other Sisters in Christ.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do we need a "Girl's Ministry"?

We feel that a ministry for young women is so important in today's world. There is a need for young girls to be equipped with the tools necessary to study their Bible. These young ladies also need guidance as they seek to understand and apply their knowledge of the Bible. We see an urgent need for girls to truly grasp how precious they are in God's sight and how empowering it can be to join forces with each other.

What does "Chosen" mean?

In a world where twitter & facebook rule, we know that to proclaim your status as "taken" is a big deal. We wanted to use that same idea in our relationship with God. He tells us repeatedly we are "Chosen" in His word. So we are choosing to declare our status to the world.

How do I earn my Pearls?

Each year, the leaders choose a specific goal for the girls to reach in order to earn their pearl bracelets. Last year, the girls memorized the Romans Road verses. This goal changes yearly and those girls who meet the requirement receive a pearl bracelet.

Also, the girls are able to earn pearl earrings for attending the Chosen meetings 5 weeks in a row.

Each month, the girls nominate one of their peers to be selected to receive a pearl necklace. The girls nominate a peer who they have observed doing some of the following… digging deeper in their personal Bible study, reaching out to their friends at school, serving unselfishly within the student ministry and really rising to the top and being a leader within our group of girls. The Chosen leaders review the nominations and select one girl each month to receive a pearl necklace.

What else will we do in this Girl's Ministry?

We have several special events throughout the year!

We will have several theme parties throughout the year to celebrate various holidays together.

We also have a Purity Ball in the spring! This is a very special event for all the young ladies to make a “True Love Waits” commitment. The girls will be escorted to the Ball by their fathers or another special “fatherly figure.”

Weekly Meetings

We are meeting on Sunday nights 6:00-7:30pm with 2 leaders per group. This will be a time to encourage each other through discussion and accountability. The leaders really look forward to investing in their group of girls each week!
