Relationships sit at the core of our human existence. God's intent is that life is lived out through community. In our LIFE GROUPS you will find opportunity for both relational connection and for spiritual formation. We believe that the best ways to establish authentic relationships is in a Small Group meeting in a home or at a coffee shop, With the Bible as our centerpiece, we engage in spiritual dialogue and discussion, looking for ways to care for one another, grow in our faith, serve others, and reach out beyond our walls.

CROSSROADS provides small groups of 10 to 20 adults that meet regularly in homes and apartments, and coffee shops cross the Pensacola Area. What happens in a "typical" LIFE GROUP meeting?

Every small group has its own personality, but some common elements happen in most group meetings. Groups typically spend some time just hanging out and getting to know each other. For example, some will have snacks as a part of their weekly group time. Along with casual hangout time, groups also do a study together. Some groups focus strictly on book studies of the Bible, while others rotate through topical studies. Prayer is also a key element to typical group meetings. Many people find that praying in groups is their favorite part of group life. A typical group meeting lasts 1 or 2 hours.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. What kind of LIFE GROUPS do you offer?

We have groups based on gender - guys with guys and ladies with ladies. With gender-based groups, the authenticity and accountability level is higher than in mixed groups. The reality is that if a woman is present, a guy will always put his best face forward. We consider small groups a safe place to share life and be held accountable to God's call. There are plenty of opportunities to build relationships with the opposite sex throughout our CROSSROADS ministry, but a small group is not one of them.

What do groups study?

Each group picks their own curriculum to study with the help of their Life Group Leader (LGL). We suggest starting with the Serendipity House Adult studies. These cover books of the Bible and specific struggles.

How often do community groups meet?

Our groups generally meet on Sunday or Thursday evenings. They will meet at a consistent location in the home of a designated area.

All groups meet up once a week every month. However, every 3rd Sunday night we meet up at Olive Baptist Church to do a community outreach project.
