Activities Awareness Advertisement (pdf) - Monthly Publication
Mature Adults is an activities based ministry for people who are close to reaching the age of retirement and beyond. We have many opportunities for people to get involved with clubs, fellowships, trips and support groups. On Sundays we have small group Bible Studies on campus.
Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.
– 3 John 1:2
On the first Thursday of each month beginning at 11:15am in the Blue Room we have a brief devotion and then a fellowship lunch. Cost is $3.00 per person for a meal valued at $5.00.
Reservations are requested the Sunday prior to Thursday and sign up sheets are passed around in your Sunday School Connection Group.
We have an outing on the second Thursday of each month. We normally leave the church from in front of the ROC at 9:15am and return between 2 or 3pm. Cost of the outing fluctuates due to the venues we attend. The basic trip is a "light" activity with a lunch at a reasonably priced restaurant.
On Mondays we gather together in the Community Room from 10:00am until 3:00pm. This is a time for playing table games, challenging each other on a Nintendo Wii, and have a great time of fellowship. We break for lunch around 12:00pm. So bring some snacks, yourself, and a friend and plan to play awhile.
This is a life-changing, Christ-centered weight-loss and healthy living program. First Place 4 Health meets in small group settings. At Olive we currently have 4 group meetings. In order to join a group we ask that you attend an informational gathering. There is a cost for the members kit and the Bible study materials. Details are given at the informational gathering.
Proverbs 31:22 “She makes covering for her bed.”
We gather together on a regular basis to share our God-given talents and, through those talents, to share the great commission. Quilts are made and distributed to (Acts 1:8): Jerusalem (our homes and family), Judea (our extended family), Samaria (our community) and to the ends of the earth (mission projects around the world). All quilts are labeled with the love of Jesus Christ and a track is distributed when appropriate. If you are a seamstress with quilting knowledge you are welcome to join us. We meet Wednesdays at 11:00am and Thursdays at 9:00am.
We are dedicated to providing prayer shawls to people who are:
The shawls are prayed over as they are knitted or crocheted and selected for the recipient. We do this to reach out and show the love of Christ to all. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month.
Twice a year we take an out of town trip that lasts 5 days, one in the spring and one in the fall. We leave on Sundays and return on Thursdays. The trips are planned well in advance with reservations being accepted with your $100 security deposit.
