Benin

Benin is squeezed between Togo and Nigeria, along the curve of the Western side of Africa. Over time its coast developed into the largest slave trade route. Known for being the birthplace of Vodun (Voodoo), it is the official religion of the country with various palatial ruins and temples. Benin was a highly sophisticated political and social center which led to diversity of the arts still seen today.
