  • Note Requirements: To reserve your spot we will need the online application completed and turned in to Olive by February 14 with your 1st deposit of $200. The $200 deposit will not be refunded. Significant reasoning for not going after deposit must be explained to both Scooter and me as to whether any refund will be returned. If you are unable to go after a plane ticket has been purchased we will only return a plane ticket with your name on it to be used within 1 year from the purchase date. PAYMENTS MUST BE GIVEN DIRECTLY TO THE MISSIONS OFFICE.

Deadlines:

  • Feb. 14 — $200 Deposit (NONREFUNDABLE), OBC Application, SEE TEAM Application

  • Mar. 14 — $300 Payment and 1st Training

  • April 18 — $500 Payment and Passport turned in

  • May 30 — $500 Payment and 2nd Training

  • June 20 — $100 Final college student payment ($500 for adults)

  • July 6 — $400 for final adult payment

Passport/Visa:

  • Italy requires only a passport.

  • If your passport expires in 2010 you will need to go ahead and renew one as to not have problems in customs.

Shots Recommended Only:

  • Routine: Measles (MMR), Tetanus (DPT), Poliovirus Vaccine.

  • Hepatitis B

Statistics on Italy

  • Italy is home to more than 58 million people.

  • More than 98% of the population is Roman Catholic

  • Islam follows Roman Catholicism as Italy’s 2nd largest religion.

    • The city of Rome is home to the largest Moslem mosque beyond Arab countries’ borders.

  • After Roman Catholicism and Islam, the 3rd largest religion in Italy is Jehovah’s Witnesses.

    • The church of satan is a rapidly growing cult in Italy as well.
    • There are an estimated 100,000 full-time consulting sorcerers and magicians in Italy.

  • Less than 1% of the population is evangelical Christian and of those, very few of them are born-again Christians.

  • There are approximately 33,000 cities, towns, and villages.

    • Of them, only 3,000 currently have an evangelical church or missionary.
    • There is only 1 evangelical missionary for every 200,000 people.

Prayer Needs:

  • Pray that God will prepare those going for the trip.

  • Pray that God will provide multiple opportunities and that we would be bold.

  • Pray that God will work on Italian hearts, bringing them to a place of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

  • Pray for future opportunities and financial needs with the missionaries there.
