Moreover, it is required of stewards that a man be found faithful.
– I Corinthians 4:2
To serve all ministries of Olive Baptist Church so that the objectives God has laid on our hearts can be achieved. It is our desire to integrate principles from Scripture in our daily practices, to grow the kingdom and grow in Christ so that we become more like Jesus.
To follow the principle that everything belongs to God. God is the ruler of all things and wealth, honor, power and strength come from Him.
To work with a servant's heart to budget, prepare, clean, build and maintain our campus and to provide the best possible environment for worship, fellowship and outreach.
Everything in the heavens and earth is yours, O Lord.
– I Chronicles 29:11

I have been married to the most wonderful woman for the past 28 years. Jackie and I have two children: Amanda, 26 and Nicholas, 14 and one grandchild: Lily, age 4.
In August of 1994 as I sat beside the hospital bed of my daughter Amanda, watching life slip from her body after having major surgery to remove her right lung due to a birth defect. She was eight years old at the time and the center of my life. As her doctor stood by her bed with tears in his eyes, he explained he had done all he could do, but he didn’t know how to save her. Then he said something that I will remember all of my life. He said to pray.
At that time in my life I was lost in sin, but I remember what my mother had always said.. you are never so lost that God can’t hear your prayers. That night I prayed for God to save my child but first I asked him to save me. I promised to serve Him and go and do whatever he asked of me.
I am pleased to say that my daughter is alive today due to the wonderful, marvelous grace of Jesus Christ. That night not only did he heal my child and give life back to her. He also gave life to me through his mercy and saving grace of salvation.
Our Housekeeping staff strives for excellence because we are preparing a special place for you to come and meet and praise Jesus. Our God deserves the very best and we want you to be able to focus on worship, prayer and our Pastor's message without being distracted. Sixteen people accomplish cleaning more than 100 restroom stalls, setting up rooms and media equipment for the more than 6000 events that are held on our campus yearly. You will see us all around the complex throughout the week meeting the needs of our fellow co-workers and guests who come by for classes and helping people who need encouragement.
"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."
– Colossians 3:23-24
There are many small jobs that are repetitive on a weekly or biweekly basis. Our department is responsible for stocking the pews, setting up, breaking down and monitoring fellowship dinner, erasing white boards, straightening chairs and completely changing room set ups from Sunday School Connection Groups to discipleship classes. We would like to give you the opportunity to serve in the church doing what you feel comfortable doing and fitting within your schedule. Please give me a call. It is an awesome way to feel a part of your church
The maintenance personnel are responsible for keeping the church’s air conditioners and heaters working, the buildings and machinery in good repair, the grounds mowed and maintained, as well as rebuilding, remodeling or rewiring the church’s building.

"Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory" (Psalm 115:1).
The Olive maintenance department desires to meet God's expectations in the upkeep of the buildings and grounds He has in bestowed upon our care.
Quality is defined as "a standard of excellence." The quality we strive for requires every aspect of our work to be dedicated toward continuous improvement. We work hard to meet or exceed the need of each person whom Jesus places in our path.
Our hope is that this quest for unsurpassed quality will result in a place of unhindered worship and spiritual growth for each person who comes through. Our desire is to see lost men pass through our doors, come to know God's love for them, and seek after our Lord until they know Him personally. This is how we measure the success of the maintenance team at Olive.
