A deacon led ministry empowered by caring volunteers from every age group and department within our church.
Ladies, are you looking for opportunities to connect with other widows? The Widows Connection will provide fellowship opportunities for you. Every widow will be assigned to a connection group in their community. These are small groups of 5-8 widows. A connection leader (another widow) will help keep you posted of upcoming activities and promote fellowship among your group. Throughout the year activities for all widows are planned: game days, short day trips, and crafts to name a few.
The highlight of every year in February is the Widows Banquet. Olive’s Deacons enjoy the opportunity to serve and fellowship with our ladies. Don’t miss out on this special occasion.
Modeled after I Timothy 5:3-16, this program seeks to provide physical, spiritual and emotional assistance for widows without children or local family. Qualified widows will be matched with a church member that will serve as her Care Coordinator. When a widow has needs that are beyond what her coordinator can provide, other volunteers from the church will lend assistance.
For additional information regarding any aspect of our widows ministry you may call Ginger Leonard at 850.475.1149 between 8:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday–Friday. After hour needs should be addressed to the deacon on call whose number is in the Worship Guide each week.
