The School of Performing Arts
The School of Performing Arts is a division of the Music Ministry of Olive Baptist Church. Our goal is to provide quality instruction in the performing arts. This instruction is given by a highly qualified Christian faculty using a well-rounded curriculum designed to maximize the student’s potential for future service in performance, ministry and personal enjoyment.
Who May Register
Lessons are available to any person, age five and older, who desires to begin or continue music instruction. We offer private lessons in piano, guitar, voice, strings and wind instruments. The instruction is adapted to the student’s age and experience. Enrollment is year round. You do not have to be a member of Olive Baptist to take lessons. We welcome everyone!
All lessons are held in the Music Suite of Olive Baptist Church and are taught Monday-Friday on a weekly basis. Lessons are scheduled at a mutually agreeable time between the student and instructor. For more information on availability, please contact the School of Performing Arts office

Student music recitals are held near the end of the fall and spring semesters. We will schedule as many recitals as necessary to meet the needs of all students. Student performance is optional in recitals and is determined by the instructor.
Policies Concerning Make-Up Lessons
Students are allowed only two make-up lessons per semester with at least a twenty-four hour advance notice. Students are not billed for any lessons occurring on a Federal holiday when the church is closed and a make-up lesson will not be needed. Enrollment & Fees
For information regarding areas taught and available lesson times, please contact the School of Performing Arts office at 850.474.3645. Before lessons begin, the parent/student will need to schedule an appointment with the School of Performing Arts coordinator to fill out the enrollment forms and go over our studio policies.
There is an annual, non-refundable enrollment fee of $25 for the first student and $10 for any additional family members. Monthly fees are due by the tenth of each month after which a $10 late fee will be charged. A 10% discount is given to additional family members and students who take lessons in more than one area. The enrollment fee and first month’s payment will be due at the time of enrollment.
Thirty-minute lessons are $18.00 each with discounts available to additional family members.
