Dr. Ted Traylor has served as pastor of Olive Baptist Church since 1990. His bold and practical preaching brings people to a fresh understanding of God's Word and challenges them to become bondservants for Christ.
He is known for his uncompromising stand on Biblical issues and strong defense of the Christian faith. In addition to serving as First Vice-President of the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000 and President of the Florida Baptist Convention in 1995, Dr. Traylor served as President of the Southern Baptist Convention’s 2004 Pastors’ Conference.
He has preached extensively throughout the United States in conferences and revivals. Dr. Traylor is the author of The Eight Callings of God, A Compass, a Map and a Passport: God’s Provisions for Life’s Journey and What Is a Southern Baptist? Key Denominational Distinctives.
He and his wife, Liz, have two children, Rachel and Bennett, and are the proud grandparents to Kathryn and Elizabeth.
Stan leads the pastoral staff team as well as working with the various lay leadership team at Olive. He directly assists the Pastor in carrying out his vision for Olive as well as assisting him with various pastoral functions.
Dan leads the Financial and Administrative teams at Olive. As part of his responsibilities he oversees financial operations, security, and new building construction.
Shaun Pillay joined Olive in January of 2017. He serves as Minister of Discipleship & Evangelism, and is leading our strategy for our Warrington Campus. Shaun also serves as an Evangelism Consultant for the Florida Baptist Convention.
John Lowe serves as the Minister to High School Students and is the Education Team Leader. John seeks to help students grow in their faith and to help parents disciple their students. He is a graduate of Troy University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Jon leads the Music Ministry at Olive, where he directs the choir and weekly worship services. He also oversees an active ministry that includes instrumental groups, music activities and choirs for children and youth, and seasonal special events.
Chris is responsible for equipping all middle school students, parents and teachers to be fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ. By doing so, he oversees Connection Groups, discipleship classes, school clubs and Wednesday worship.
Brandon oversees the Recreation Outreach Center (ROC) at Olive. His responsibilities include maintaining various team sports programs as well as numerous other programs, classes, and interest groups. He holds a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of West Florida.
Robert is responsible for Single Adult Connection Groups, Divorce Recovery, Hope and Help for the Single Mom and oversees special activities for all single adults. Robert came to Olive as a single adult in 1983 and has been involved with the Single Adult Ministry in some form ever since.
Mike oversees the ministry needs and spiritual growth for Olive’s Married Adults and Military members. He has a passion for Evangelism, Marriage and Parenting Enrichment and Personal/Family Discipleship. Mike retired from the USAF and is knowledgeable and sensitive to the challenges that are unique to military families.
Kim oversees our Mature Adults who are those nearing retirement age and beyond. Encompassed in this ministry area are connection groups, support groups, activities and travel.
Jon oversees the Pastoral Ministries area which includes leading Wednesday Night Prayer & Bible Study, Baptismal team, Ushers team, Encouragers team, Greeters team, Deaf Ministry team, Lighthouse team (ministry to shut-ins), hospital visitation, Women’s ministry, Van ministry team, pastoral counseling, weddings and funerals.
Allen oversees the Media Department of Olive. The Media Department includes all of the audio, video and lighting for Sunday services as well as print, digital and video advertisements, the Media Library and website.
Jamie assists the Minister of Music in directing the choir and planning weekly worship services. In addition, he leads and oversees worship at Olive's Warrington campus.
Sharon leads the Preschool Ministry at Olive. Her responsibilities include overseeing all preschool activities, volunteer and teacher recruitment, and managing the various ministry events which take place through the Preschool Ministry.
Daniel fulfills the role of the Minister of Community Connections through building relationships with people in the local area in advance of Sunday morning contact.
Glenn leads the facilities and housekeeping services at Olive’s multiple campuses. In addition, he also oversees and manages Olive’s greeting teams.
