High School Ministry Associate

Principle Function

Olive Baptist Church is building a student ministry team that will work together to fulfill the mission statement that Olive Baptist Church exists to develop fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. The High School Ministry Associate will play a vital role by supporting the High School Minister through partnering in the discipleship of female students, equipping leaders, and engaging with family units, among other responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities

The High School Ministry Associate will work under the supervision of the High School Minister. The responsibilities below are not all-encompassing and will grow in depth and breadth as experience is gained.

Administration and Programming:

The High School Ministry Associate will partner with the High School Minister in the week-to-week operations of the Ministry. Tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Programming development of MidWeek Services, Sunday Connection Groups, Weekend Events, and other activities as assigned

  • Assisting with the guest follow-up process for High School Ministry

  • Process purchase orders, check requests, credit card reconciliations, and other financial duties as assigned

  • Communicate with students, families, and leaders through text messaging services, emails, and social media

  • Partner with other departments within Olive Baptist Church (Finance, Comms, etc.) to accomplish tasks related to High School Ministry

Relational Engagement with Students and Family Units:

Partner in leading high school students from one stage of their faith journey to the next through intentional time spent being where they are, interacting with them, and building relationships with them and their families. While this role will primarily focus on investing in female students, it will also include engagement with all students as part of the broader High School Ministry. Tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Disciple students individually and in small group environments

  • Provide spiritual guidance to students on an individual basis

  • Engage with parents/guardians to form relationships and connection between family units and the church

  • Attend student sports events, concerts, performances, etc.

Leadership Development:

The High School Ministry Associate will pray for and seek out godly, caring individuals to serve on the student ministry team in partnership with the High School Minister. Tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist in the identification, recruitment, and training of those who serve in High School Ministry

  • Assist in modeling relational ministry for the leaders in High School Ministry

Additional Secondary Responsibilities

  • Attend Tuesday Morning Staff Meeting

  • Support and serve at church-wide initiatives and events when necessary

Working Conditions:

Part-Time: Approximately 29 hours per week; additional hours may be required during special events

Compensation: Hourly wages will be proportionate to knowledge and experience

Working Hours: Sunday Morning and Wednesday Night, in addition to three flexible weekdays

Evening and Weekend Activities: The nature of High School Ministry requires a flexible schedule to include some evening and weekend activities

Expectations and Qualifications

  • Character: The High School Ministry Associate must demonstrate a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and exhibit a growing spiritual maturity and godliness.

  • Church Membership: The High School Ministry Associate must demonstrate joyful submission to the leadership and staff and must be, or become, a member of Olive Baptist Church, actively participating in worship and discipleship.

  • Theological/Biblical Commitments: In agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

  • Education: The High School Ministry Associate is expected to have a High School Diploma or GED.

  • Ministry Experience: The High School Ministry Associate is expected to have experience in discipling and building relationships with others, specifically females

  • Skills:

  • Able to interact and relate with students effectively

  • Able to communicate with maturity to volunteer teams and parents

  • Able to work in a team environment

  • Motivation: The High School Ministry Associate must be self-motivated and ready to serve.

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 (Formerly Microsoft Office Suite)

  • Basic understanding of Finance

  • Basic understanding of Social Media (Instagram, Facebook, Meta Business Suite, etc.)

Special Needs Worker

I.              Basic Function:

Is responsible for providing a safe, healthy, and loving environment for students with special needs.

     

II.            Working Relationships:

a.     Reports to:  Director of Special Needs Ministry

b.     Works beside:  Children’s ministry staff and all OBC personnel

 

III.          Basic Responsibilities:

a.     Meet the spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, and social needs of special needs students

b.     Share biblical truths with special needs students

c.     Love and minister to parents of special needs students

IV.          Principle Accountabilities:

a.     Help provide and maintain a Christian environment in which the students may grow physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually

b.     Follow the policies and procedures of Olive Baptist Church

c.     Be polite, friendly, and courteous and seek to develop good trusting relationships with all students, parents, and volunteers

d.     Work according to the schedule outlined by the Minister to Children

V.            Desired Qualifications:

a.     Be a Christian, preferably Southern Baptist

b.     Be at least 18 years of age

c.     Demonstrate a loving spirit

d.     Be in good health, able to bend, stoop and physically able to take care of students

electrician

Full-time Electrician with a Journeyman's License.

Needs to perform a variety of installation, troubleshooting and repair tasks on electrical systems.

The duties and responsibilities may vary depending on the scope of the role, but they often include:

  • Understanding and applying blueprints and technical diagrams

  • Using various devices, including ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners and cable testers, as well as hand and power tools

  • Installing or replacing wiring, lighting, electrical controls, breakers and other electrical devices

  • Inspecting and maintaining electrical systems in the buildings.

  • Adhering to state and local building regulations. 

  • Completing work orders on time

  • Documenting the work completed and materials used

  • Work with other electricians, general contractors, engineers, architects and other team members.

Music Faculty - Music Studios at Olive

Part Time: 5-18 hours per week

Principle Function:

Provide high-quality music instruction to students in the Music Studios at Olive

Principle Accountabilities

  • Teach weekly lessons to assigned students

  • Communicate with students and families of students regarding progress, needed materials, and

    upcoming events

  • Attend end-of-semester recitals

Desired Qualifications

The candidate should have a degree in the field of music. Teaching experience is desired but not required. Teachers are encouraged to obtain membership in appropriate music teachers associations.

  • Strong understanding of pedagogy for their instrument

  • Strong performing skills on their instrument

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work with a wide age-range of individuals

Housekeeping / Events Team Member

Part-Time

Want to join a winning team? The new Housekeeping Sets and Events Team may be the place for you! We have part-time opportunities available with up to 29 hours.  

Potential team members will need to have some flexibility in scheduling and be able to work both morning and evenings as needs arise. This position requires the ability to lift 30lbs and to work on your feet for up to 8 hours. 

 

Preschool Childcare Worker

Part-Time | 20 hr.

Principle Functions:

●               Provide a safe, healthy, and loving environment for preschoolers

●               Meet the spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, and social needs of preschoolers

●               Educate preschoolers through the teaching of Bible truths 

●               Reach preschoolers and their families for Christ and the church 

●               Involve the church family in laying a Christian foundation for preschoolers

Principle Accountabilities:

●               Help provide and maintain a Christian environment in which the children may grow physically, emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually

●               Follow the policies and procedures of Olive Baptist Church

●               Provide age-appropriate care which includes: feeding, changing diapers, escorting to the bathroom, maintaining a safe environment, putting children down for naps, holding, or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, activities and Bible stories

●               Be polite, friendly, and courteous and seek to develop good trusting relationships with all children, parents, and volunteers

●               Work according to the schedule outlined by the Childcare Coordinator

●               Plan teaching activities for children as instructed by the Childcare Coordinator

●               Maintain a clean and orderly classroom at all times

Desired Qualifications:

●              Be a Christian, preferably Southern Baptist

●               Be at least 16 years of age to work in the 3 & 4 year old classes

●               Be at least 18 years of age to work in the Babies, 1 & 2 year old classes

●               Be certified in CPR

●               Experience working with children

Early Learning Center Teaching Assistant 2 Year Olds

FULL-TIME

Ministry Village Early Learning Center is looking for people to join our endeavor to improve early childhood education in Escambia County. The Ministry Village ELC opened in Pensacola in November 2018 and has steadily grown. We are hiring teachers, assistants and substitutes on an ongoing basis. This position would assist the teacher in the 2 Year Old room on a full-time basis.

Our goal first is to instill Godly character into each child who attends our school. We will be using the Creative Curriculum and run our classrooms in play-based centers.

Our facility serves children 3 months to 4 years old. If you love working with children and are enthusiastic about early education, we would like you to consider joining our team as a teacher assistant in our toddler classrooms.

This position is needed to provide care Monday-Friday.
